Ingredients

Burger Patties
  • 1 pound ground beef 80/20 blend for best flavor
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
Toppings
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese optional
  • 4 buns burger buns toasted
  • 1 cup lettuce shredded
  • 1 tomato sliced
  • 1/2 cup pickles sliced
  • 1/4 cup ketchup to taste
  • 1/4 cup mustard to taste

Method

Prepare the Patties
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty.
Grill the Burgers
  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Place the patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F.
  2. If using cheese, add a slice on top of each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.
Assemble the Burgers
  1. Toast the burger buns on the grill for about 1 minute.
  2. Place each patty on the bottom half of a bun, then layer with lettuce, tomato, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.
