Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Gather all the ingredients for your butter cake.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened unsalted butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3 to 5 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition and scraping down the sides of the bowl.
- In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients while mixing on low speed.
- Add the milk and vanilla extract, mixing until just combined.
- Pour the batter into a prepared cake pan and bake for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
