  • 1 lb ground beef or ground turkey
  • 2 cans baked beans 15 oz each
  • 1 cup onion chopped
  • 1 cup bell pepper chopped
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce your favorite brand
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp mustard yellow or Dijon
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt to taste
  • 1 tsp black pepper to taste

Method
 

Cooking the Hamburger
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon.
  2. Add the chopped onion and bell pepper to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
Combining Ingredients
  1. Stir in the baked beans, barbecue sauce, brown sugar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
Baking
  1. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and spread it evenly.
  2. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 30-40 minutes, until bubbly and heated through.
Serving
