Method
Prepare the Fruit
- Wash and chop the fresh fruit into smaller pieces.
- If using apples, peel and core them before chopping.
Blend the Mixture
- In a blender, combine the chopped fruit, honey (if using), and lemon juice.
- Blend until smooth and well combined.
Prepare for Drying
- Preheat the oven to 170°F (77°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Pour the fruit puree onto the prepared baking sheet and spread it evenly to about 1/8 inch thick.
Dry the Fruit Leather
- Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven.
- Let it dry for about 4-6 hours, or until the fruit leather is no longer sticky to the touch.
Cool and Cut
- Once dried, remove the baking sheet from the oven and let it cool completely.
- Cut the fruit leather into strips or desired shapes and store in an airtight container.
