- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9-inch round baking pan by greasing it with butter and lining the bottom with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, blend softened butter and eggs with a hand mixer until smooth and creamy.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter and egg mixture, stirring gently until combined.
- Pour in fresh blood orange juice and zest, stirring gently until incorporated.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
- Bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
