Baking Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round baking pan with butter or line it with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, grated orange zest, ground cardamom, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat the softened butter with the granulated sugar using an electric mixer until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Incorporate the eggs one at a time into the butter-sugar mixture, mixing well between each addition.
- Gradually stir in the fresh orange juice until well blended.
- Slowly add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
- Bake for about 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with glaze.
