Cake Ingredients
  • 1 box White Cake Mix Opt for a high-quality mix.
  • 3 large Eggs Use large eggs for consistency.
  • 1 cup Water Use room temperature water.
Jello Mixture
  • 1 package Jello Gelatin Any flavor.
  • 1 cup Boiling Water To dissolve the gelatin.
  • 1 cup Cold Water To help the gelatin set.
Topping
  • 1 container Whipped Topping Thawed for easy spreading.
  • 1 cup Sliced Fresh Fruit Optional, strawberries or blueberries work well.

Method
 

Prepare the Cake Base
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, water, oil, and eggs. Whisk until smooth and pour into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish. Bake for about 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Create the Jello Mixture
  1. In a medium bowl, dissolve the jello in boiling water, then add an equal amount of cold water. Set aside to cool.
Poke the Cake
  1. Once the cake has cooled for about 10-15 minutes, use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the surface of the cake. This allows the jello mixture to seep into the cake.
