Prepare the Cake Base
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, water, oil, and eggs. Whisk until smooth and pour into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish. Bake for about 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Create the Jello Mixture
- In a medium bowl, dissolve the jello in boiling water, then add an equal amount of cold water. Set aside to cool.
Poke the Cake
- Once the cake has cooled for about 10-15 minutes, use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the surface of the cake. This allows the jello mixture to seep into the cake.
