Method
Prepare the crust
- In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed Oreo cookies and melted butter until well mixed.
- Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan to form an even crust.
Make the filling
- In a large bowl, mix the softened vanilla ice cream with the chopped Oreo cookies until evenly distributed.
- Spread the ice cream mixture over the prepared crust, smoothing the top with a spatula.
Freeze the cake
- Cover the cake with plastic wrap and freeze for at least 4 hours, or until firm.
Serve
- Once frozen, remove the cake from the springform pan.
- Top with whipped cream and additional crushed Oreos if desired, then slice and serve.
