Ingredients

Base Ingredients
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour for a fluffy, light texture that holds its shape
  • 1 cup whole milk, warmed enhances the bread's softness and flavor
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted ensures a rich, buttery taste in every bite
  • 1/4 cup sugar balances the flavors while helping the bread to brown
  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast for a reliable rise that makes this loaf easy to prepare
  • 1 teaspoon salt enhances the overall flavor of the loaf
  • 1 large egg, beaten enriches the dough and adds to the beautiful golden color

Equipment

  • mixing bowl
  • loaf pan
  • Oven
  • Wire rack

Method

Preparation Steps
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the warm milk, sugar, and instant yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy and bubbly.
  2. Add the melted butter and beaten egg to the frothy mixture. Stir well until everything is nicely blended.
  3. Gradually add the all-purpose flour and salt to the wet ingredients. Stir until a dough forms.
  4. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until it's smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl. Cover with a clean towel and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour.
  6. Punch down the risen dough to deflate it. Shape it into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan.
  7. Cover the shaped loaf and let it rise again for approximately 30 minutes until puffy.
  8. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and hollow when tapped.
  10. Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
