Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk the eggs and sugar together until the mixture is pale and fluffy.
- Add the vanilla extract and salt, and continue whisking until well combined.
- Gently fold in the sifted flour using a spatula, being careful not to deflate the mixture.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
